Sailing is a passion that knows no bounds, and now, the International Sailing Schools Association (ISSA) is taking a giant leap forward to ensure that individuals with disabilities can also relish the joy of sailing. To make this vision a reality, ISSA is introducing a groundbreaking category of licenses for its instructors, known as “Sailing Instructor of Persons with Disabilities” (SIPD).
The International Sailing Schools Association is an international association which provides a framework of common standards of quality and safety for sailing and windsurfing schools throughout the world. The ISSA standards apply equally to the certification of students completing sailing and windsurfing courses at all levels of ability. All ISSA sailing and windsurfing instructors are trained to the same of levels of competence.
